Match Report: East Dorset Dockers Ladies vs Wimborne Black Jets
Final Score: East Dorset Dockers 40 – 0 Wimborne

The first game of the season for the ladies finally arrived. The location - Iford Lane; the weather – made for mud pies; the performance – a five-star show. Battling through driving rain and gusting winds, both teams started strongly, with the first fifteen minutes proving a gritty, evenly matched contest. Unfortunately, the opening quarter saw injuries on both sides – a testament to the physicality and commitment on display.

However, with every storm comes a rainbow, and the Dockers began to assert control. Their discipline, decision-making, and opportunism came to the fore, gradually turning the tide in their favour. With L. Evans opening the scoring, it seemed she also opened the floodgates, followed by B. O’Hara, L. Moloney, L. Andries, A. Allum, and B. Jarman, respectively. To top off the performance, C. Thomas was faultless from the tee, going 5/5 between the sticks. Wimborne’s defence had no answers to the 40 points put past them – a true testament to the Dockers’ strength in both attack and defence.
Standout Performances
