SENIOR TEAMS
Competitive senior rugby for players of all levels. Our men’s and women’s squads train and play with fun and passion. Friendship, teamwork, respect, and commitment on and off the field to keep improving
MEN'S TEAM
Training Tuesday & Thursdays 6:45pm – 8:30pm
EDD has two senior men’s teams. We’re blending our goal of wanting to climb the leagues over the next 5 years, while simultaneously recognising that different people want different things from their rugby.
Collectively, it’s always going to be about friendship, camaraderie, enjoying training and having a good time on and off the pitch come Saturday afternoon. Our first XV play in Counties 2 Tribute Dorset & Wilts South, level 8 rugby. Our second team play merit rugby.

The first team is performance lead. We’re aiming to steadily progress the level of rugby being played and push the club up through the leagues. It’s all for the badge, and the badge is all for our community.
The second team has more than one role to play. It’s a ladder for players to compete for that 1st team place. It also has a developmental role, blooding new players or bringing injured players back up to match fitness.
We want to see vets have another `one last game’ as much as we want to see an 18-year-old get their first stand on chair, man of the match moment.
WOMEN'S TEAM

Training Tuesday & Thursdays 6:45pm – 8:30pm
Our Women’s team is fun, supportive, and passionate. Now in its 6th year, the side trains twice a week and plays league rugby.
Three dedicated coaches and a strong leadership group enable us to welcome newbies and develop them into capable players. We can also push and drive performance so that established players continue to progress.
Whilst there are women’s socials, at EDD RFC you’ll experience an utterly authentic ‘one club’ vibe. Women train on the same night as the lads, pay the same amount of player’s subs, and the club's senior committee currently has five women sitting in it.
Bringing girls rugby to Iford Lane is our on-going mission. With recent workshops at local secondary schools, Twynham and St. Peters, and a ‘rugby badge’ initiative with the Guides and Brownies groups – girls rugby is starting to establish.
If you want to give rugby a try, we’ll look after you. If you want to play league rugby and push performance, we’ve got you. If you don’t mind either way and simply want to add exercise and more friends into your world – look no further.
